Have you ever seen an idea of yours come to life?

Today, all of us at Nuru Project are lucky enough to be having that experience.

In August 2010, our five co-founders met in the lobby of the Ace Hotel in New York (we need an office!) to discuss broadening Nuru Project's scope beyond live events. Fourteen months later, we are PROUD to share our new website, which enables us to sell prints online - http://www.nuruproject.org/

For the first time, we have a home on the web. Here is how it works.

To be sure, the site is a work in progress. For example, we have some prints whose subject matter doesn't match any of our current non-profit partners' missions. And we are still looking for relevant prints for some of our non-profit partners. We're working hard to address these gaps.

In the meantime, we are thankful to our talented photographers who have taken the time to give us their images and words. They are too many to name, but you can browse their incredible work here. And we're excited to share 25% of revenue with them.

We are equally thankful to our stellar non-profit partners - Acumen Fund, Architecture for Humanity, Malaria No More, Partners In Health, and Pencils of Promise (you can read more about them here) -- for trusting us to represent their organizations. 50% of all print sales support their causes.

In many ways, today feels like a finish line. The exciting thing is that it is also a starting point.

Now the real task begins: selling prints and raising funds for our non-profit partners to help them do their important work.

So spread the word and go buy a print! :)
